The second Summer School, organised by the Scottish Government, will focus on ways to further improve the leadership capacity in our Scottish schools.
International Presenters will include:
- Andy Hargreaves, Lynch School of Education, Boston College, USA
- Alma Harris, Director, Institute of Education, University of Warwick
- Malachi Pancoast, Breakthrough Coach, Florida, USA
Plus a range of well respected Scottish speakers, including David Cameron, Stirling Council and Chris Ward, Co–operative Learning Trainer and Co–ordinator, North Lanarkshire Council.
Aim of the International Summer School:
To bring together educational practitioners from around Scotland and from abroad to:
- discuss how theory on effective leadership can influence and shape practice;
- participate in workshops and discussions aimed at examining issues on developing the leadership culture;
- listen to experiences from home and abroad on best practice in leadership development; and
- consider current and planned initiatives in leadership development and help shape the future through sharing experiences and ideas.
The Summer School will be held in the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons conference facilities in the heart of Edinburgh. The accommodation is situated nearby in both the Carlton Hotel and Ten Hill Place Hotel.
