

By air
Edinburgh Airport is situated 13km to the west of the city. Travel into Edinburgh by taxi takes approx 20 minutes and will cost about £15. Alternatively use the frequent Airlink bus, operated by Lothian Region Transport, £3 single or £5 return, journey time 25-30mins. The bus termites Waverley Bridge. From here, the Surgeons Hall, the Carlton Hotel and Ten Hill Place Hotel are all a short walk.

By train
Waverley Station is 10 minutes walk from the Surgeon’s Hall, the Carlton Hotel and Ten Hill Place Hotel.
By car
From the City Bypass (A702) take the Straiton junction. From here follow the signs for the City Centre. The route is fairly straight, through Liberton. At the foot of Liberton Brae continue on the main road, Liberton Road. This leads into Craigmillar Park. Carry straight on for approx. 2km. Minto Street continues into Clerk St, which then continues into Nicolson Street.
- To the Surgeon’s Hall & Ten Hill Place Hotel
Turn right into Hill Place (opposite Nicolson Square). Parking: There are metered parking spaces in Hill Place (very limited), and Chambers Street. Ten Hill Place Hotel offers limited car parking. Alternative parking is available at St. Johns Hill National Car Park, close by at the Pleasance. - To the Carlton Hotel
The Paramount Carlton Hotel is located on North Bridge above the station and adjacent to the Royal Mile and Prince.
Parking: Parking is not available at the hotel. The nearest parking is at the NCP car parks, either at St James Centre or St Johns Hill.
By bus
Inter-city bus services terminate at the St Andrew's Square Bus Station, situated next to the St James Centre shopping centre. The bus station is a 10 minute walk from the Surgeon’s Hall, the Carlton Hotel and Ten Hill Place Hotel.
